Position Summary
The Senior Projects Lead will have a professional background in biology, forestry, or a related field. This role is responsible for assisting the General Manager in areas of business development, client relations, and will lead a team of environmental monitors on major mining, hydro, and construction projects, as well as prepare proposals and budgets that lead to new contract procurement. The Senior Projects Lead reports directly to the General Manager of CCE.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Strategy
Assist in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans aligned with CCE’s mission as a for profit social enterprise, working to create employment, build local capacity, and support economic growth for Tsay Keh Dene Nation.
Build and sustain relationships with major clients in mining, construction, hydro and both Indigenous and provincial governments.
Identify and pursue new service offerings, revenue streams, and business opportunities.
2. Operations & Project Delivery
Assist the GM to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Coordinate field crews working in remote areas of northern British Columbia.
Create project proposals and budgets for new business procurement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, environmental management plans, and health and safety standards.
3. Team Development
Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team with expertise in wildlife, fisheries, reclamation, botany, and aquatics.
Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability across the organization.
Implement training and professional development to enhance team capabilities and support career progression for a team of professionals.
4. Client & Community Engagement
Cultivate strong, respectful relationships with clients, governments, and Tsay Keh Dene Nation citizens.
Represent CCE at conferences, community events, and professional forums.
Ensure that CCE’s services and work reflect the values and priorities of Tsay Keh Dene Nation and are rooted in respect for the community and territory.
6. Field Work
Willingness to travel to the field and carry out field data collection, where required to support field crews, or to build the necessary understanding of your remote work site and project.
Organize field schedules, teams and assist in distributing workloads across the supporting disciplines and teams.
Review environmental management plans and regulations, understand how to implement them in the field, and schedule/assign staff to match the project needs.
7. Health & Safety
Promote the successful implementation of CCE’s safety management systems.
Ensure compliance with all safety laws and regulations.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in environmental science, biology, natural resource management, or a related field.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in environmental consulting or closely related field.
Hold a professional designation such as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio), Registered Professional Forester (RPF), or Professional Agrologist (PAg).
Proven success managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience delivering technical reports.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and permitting processes.

Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience and qualifications.
